young girl Welcome Colleagues !
Many thanks for accepting QUT Education students into your site. Your continued support of preservice teachers and your contribution to their professional development is greatly appreciated and recognised as vital for the future success of the profession.

Please refer to the Policies and Guidelines document for the individual roles, perspectives and expectations of all participants in the field studies programs.

Thank you.

The Supervising Teacher role is to:
  • Act as a mentor for preservice teachers.
  • Share and demonstrate teaching methods, strategies, planning ideas, etc., with preservice teachers.
  • Provide both written and verbal feedback on a daily basis, if possible.
  • Discuss the interim report with the preservice teacher midway through the field experience and give the report to them to file in his/her folder.
  • Discuss the final field studies report with the preservice teacher and the university liaison academic (if possible). On completion, mail one copy of the final field studies report to QUT.
