As a student teacher it is important to:
  • Read all documentation available to you on the Field Experience Office web site so that you understand how field experience works at QUT.
  • Hold a valid 'Blue Card' and register your card with Student Services.
  • Contact and if possible visit your allocated site prior to the field experience start date.
  • Email or phone the University Liaison Academic prior to commencement of field experience and as needed during the field experience.
  • Seek daily feedback from the supervising teacher.
  • Present the updated preservice teacher folder daily to the supervising teacher.
  • Discuss the interim report with the supervising teacher.
  • Talk with your University Liaison Academic about the interim report.
  • Discuss the final evaluation report with your supervising teacher and your university liaison academic.
  • Ensure a copy of the final evaluation forms reaches the Field Experience Office.
  • Attend and participate in all lectures and tutorials (or undertake external studies) associated with the unit of study to support your professional experience.
  • Liaise as required with the Field Experience Office with regard to your placements and their administration.
